Reopening following the eased restrictions. The practice is following guidelines from Public Health England (PHE), the government and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). If you are attending the clinic for a face to face appointment following a virtual triage then it is essential you read the following information.
Clinic capacity and cleaning.
Appointments will be spaced so there are 30 minutes between appointments which will allow time for cleaning of contact surfaces and airing of the room. The time also allows for change of PPE for the clinician and note taking. There will only be one clinician working at the practice. Towels are single use only and plinth covers have been removed. Couch roll is changed between each patient and the plinth wiped down.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Your therapist will be wearing single use gloves, single use apron, visor and facemask (sessional use). This is in compliance with current government guidelines. Please wear a mask to your appointment or one can be provided on arrival at a small charge.
Your agreement with the practice.
I advise that you continue with virtual consultations unless there is a clinical need to have hands on Physiotherapy. This is in line with the recommendations from our regulatory body, the CSP. https://www.csp.org.uk/news/coronavirus/clinical-guidance/face-face-or-remote-consultations.
Protecting our community and one another is something I feel very strongly about and have done everything I can to reduce the risk of contracting Covid-19 but please be aware there is no way I can eliminate the risk of you contracting Covid-19 during a face to face treatment. Please do not come in if either yourself or one of your household has been ill in the last two weeks. Including, but not exclusively, the following symptoms: fever over 37.9 degrees, persistent cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, anosmia (loss or change in your normal sense of smell) headaches or fatigue.
What to expect when you come to the clinic.
When you come to the clinic you will be asked to follow rules below. If you do not adhere to the rules you will still be liable for the cost of the session.
Please complete and sign the consent form and Covid-19 health questionnaire which will be sent as a link in your confirmation e-mail before each appointment-it is ESSENTIAL you do this. Should you have any problems completing the form please contact me. You will not be seen without the necessary paperwork. Please wear a face mask for the entire time you are in the building, as per government guidelines. I will be taking your temperature using an infrared thermometer before you enter the treatment room and ask that you carefully clean your hands with alcohol gel before entering the treatment room. Please do not wait in the waiting area, you will be let in or sent a text message to your phone and the door will be opened for you. Please make all payments by bank transfer or card at the practice. The card machine will be wiped down between patients. Information for BACS will be sent on an e-mail before your appointment.
As a healthcare professional I have a duty of care to the public which is why these extra measures are in place during the Covid-19 pandemic. Any questions please e-mail me on email@example.com. If you call and leave a message please allow 24 hours before I return the call. I do not have a receptionist and am finding it difficult to return calls throughout the day.
